Last week we unveiled our “Virtualization” product portfolio, and ever since we’ve been getting (quite a lot of) feedback from clients requesting more information as to how these Virtual product can help them grow their business, so I thought – Hey! why not put up a blog post on this? So here it is….
Don’t worry, I’ll try to keep this as short as possible
To begin with, our Virtualization solutions are a range of highly powerful virtual products & services including; Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting and Virtual (Online) backup & Data Storage services – offered off the back of an ultra-sophisticated
Cloud Storage (Virtualized ) infrastructure – which is basically a high-tech network of multiple “Virtual Machines”.
A virtual machine (VM) is a software implementation of a “machine” (i.e. a computer) that executes programs just like a physical machine. In fact, a virtual machine behaves exactly like a physical computer and contains its own virtual (ie. software-based) CPU, RAM, Hard Disk (HDD) and network interface card (NIC). An operating system can’t tell the difference between a virtual machine and a physical machine, nor can applications or other computers on a network.
Even the virtual machine itself thinks it is a “real” computer.
Nevertheless, a virtual machine is composed entirely of software and contains no hardware components whatsoever. As a result, virtual machines offer a number of distinct advantages over physical hardware.

VPS Hosting- the ideal bridge between shared and dedicated hosting, VPS hosting is the the perfect solution for users looking to escape the frustrations of a shared hosting environment, as well as the cost of Dedicated server. VPS hosting offers the flexibility, power and functionality of a dedicated server at a fraction of the cost, giving you full root access to your very own Virtual Machine, which you manage and operate almost as if it was a Physical Dedicated server.
Online File backup / Virtual data storage – to safe-guard your business lifeline, we offer you secure access to a high-tech online File Depository in an advanced Virtual Network with shared access to a consolidated pool of clustered storage devices. This network utilizes Virtual data storage technology that enable you effectively manage the diversity of your existing storage infrastructure, thereby increasing storage resource utilization and flexibility.
.
- Access a lower-cost tier of storage and drive down IT costs
- Shift storage costs from a capital expenditure to an operational expenditure, freeing capital to support other parts of the business.
- Improved efficiencies in physical hardware, as well as cost savings from hardware consolidation and decreased power usage.

Virtualization was a huge trend over the past 2 years, and will continue to expand in storage, desktop and data center technologies in 2009.According to industry estimates, 50 to 60 percent of all servers are now virtualized. The goal is to reduce server inefficiencies and lower costs. It is now moving into the realm of SMBs, and is also extending into storage and onto the desktop.
